6.Solar controllerSummary:The solar controller is the most important part of the solar system. It is too intelligent and automatically to control the charge, discharge and load of the system. The performance of the controller can influence the stability of the system, especially the lifetime of Battery.
JC series solar controller will supply perfect protection functions for the battery; it will make battery work reliability. And the controller could be widely used in the solar system such as lamps, pastoral, frontier and island and so on, it is also could be used for mobile basics, microwave stations and traffic systems.
Protection function:1.Battery Reversed protection: The "+" and "-" polarity reversed, please replace the fuse.
2.Solar Cells Reversed protection: the "+" and "-" polarity reversed, Please replace the polarity.
3.Flow and short circuit protection: the loads exceed rated current or load short circuit, please replace the fuse.
4.Battery Open-circuited protection: When battery open-circuited, but the solar cell charging normally, the controller will cut-off the load.
5.Overcharge protection: When the charging voltage higher than protection voltage (14.4V/28.8V/57.6V), the controller will shut off the charging automatically, When the voltage drop to the maintain voltage (13.8V/27.6V/55.2V), the battery go into the floating station. When the charging voltage lowers than recovery voltage (13.3V/26.6V/53.2V), the floating shut off, and come into equalized charging.
6.When the battery voltage under protection voltage, the controller will shut off the output automatically to protect the battery.
7.Over-voltage protection: When the voltage is higher, the output will shut-off automatically to protect appliances. LCD display power over, in the mean time the LCD backlight flashing.
Installation and usage:please connect as the following picture. Please pay attention to the "+" and "-" polarity. Firstly, connect the battery; then the solar cells, at last the appliances. The LCD displays the current battery charge status and charge level. THE red LED indicates a battery is charging. And the green LED is discharge instruction. To prevent the wrong action, under voltage protection, under voltage recovery and over pressure recovery have 10 seconds delay. Over voltage protection has no delay time.

A: The PWM controller is in essence a switch that connects a solar array to a battery. The result is that the voltage of the array will be pulled down to near that of the battery;
The MPPT controller is more sophisticated (and more expensive): it will adjust its input voltage to harvest the maximum power from the solar array and then transform this power to supply the varying voltage requirement, of the battery plus load.

The PWM charge controller is a good low cost solution for small systems only, when solar cell temperature is moderate to high (between 45°C and 75°C).
MPPT
To fully exploit the potential of the MPPT controller, the array voltage should be substantially higher than the battery voltage. The MPPT controller is the solution of choice for higher power systems (because of the lowest overall system cost due to smaller cable cross sectional areas). The MPPT controller will also harvest substantially more power when the solar cell temperature is low (below 45°C), or very high (above 75°C), or when irradiance is very low.
